Elle explores In a Haystack

Elle has one of the loveliest sewing Instagram accounts I’ve come across, full of beautiful, trendy makes. Plus, along with Hazel, Elle co-hosts The Tipsy Sewists podcast, which is surely one of the most fun sewing podcasts out there. So it was so lovely to learn that Elle enjoyed the haystack pack I sent her. This is what she said:

I received the September In a Haystack pack and the theme was ‘Modern’ – which was very exciting for me as I see myself as a young, somewhat ‘fashionable’, modern sewist. This was my first ever pack and I had such a lovely time listening to it. I sat myself down with a cup of coffee and played the audio version which is the text of the pack read out by Kate (she has such a calming voice) and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

A sewing pattern is included in the pack and this month it was the Daphne Trousers by the Modern Sewing Company, or you could choose another pattern from their website. These trousers just SPOKE to me, they are stunning – wide leg, high waisted and perfect for the cold months to come, I just had to get them.

You also receive a code to get discounted pattern printing at my favourite printing business, Fabulosew, as well as this month you get fabric discount from another favourite of mine, Bornella Fabrics. I think I am going to purchase a khaki or royal blue medium weight twill and make the Daphne trousers slowly over the next few months as one of my ‘long form’ sews. I like to have a project on the go that I slowly sew, picking it up for 20 minutes here and there and really mindfully taking my time to enjoy the process. This feels like the perfect pattern for that.

Curious? Join the pack! I’d love to have you on board. To try the haystack pack, sign up here and use code ELLE20 for 20% off your first pack. You can join, pause, cancel and rejoin easily whenever you like.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the pack, Elle!
