Hello Aliss! Can you tell us a bit about you and Workshop?
I had this dream of a place where people could go and relax but also learn new skills. I wanted to make craft and sewing easy and accessible to more people but also more social too. The sewing community is such a welcoming space; I wanted a way to channel this energy and make it physical.
That’s where Workshop came from. It’s a café, but also a sewing and studio space. We welcome people who want to craft but also anyone who just wants to pop in for a coffee and a cake.
What can you tell us about the Lucy dress?
Lucy is one of my favourite patterns because there are so many variations you can do with her. Whether it’s mini or midi, with or without sleeves, open or closed back there will be a style that suits you. I designed her with the aim of creating simple yet striking details. The double pleat and open back feature (if you choose that style) have a beautiful, minimal simplicity, making Lucy a versatile yet on-trend garment.
